To serve as catalyst in the central Ohio area for fostering creative cooperation among diverse segments of the community in order to develop and broadcast non-profit radio programming on a licensed network of FM stations. Specifics:

The Columbus Community Radio Foundation is a non-profit community service organization formed for the purpose of making possible a non-commercial listener-supported community broadcast network of Low-Power FM and FM Translator stations in Columbus, Ohio. The network shall offer broadcasting of public affairs, theater, arts and cultural programming and will emphasize service to and inclusion of the diverse constituencies in the Columbus area that are deemed by the Foundation to be underserved by existing commercial and public broadcast outlets. The goal of the Foundation shall be to serve as a "meeting pool" rather than a "melting pot" and shall strive to foster multicultural and interdisciplinary understanding through equitable dialogue.

The broadcast facilities [i.e., the radio studio(s)] operated by the Columbus Community Radio Foundation shall seek to include programmers, directors, staff and volunteers from all of the constituencies served. The principle of equality demands equal access to the means of mass communication and the persistent exclusion of constituencies from commercial and public broadcast outlets based on race, gender, age, ethnicity, nationality, religion, language, physical ability, sexual orientation, political views and economic status necessitates the creation of a venue wherein such constituencies may have a voice and a consistent presence on the airwaves. The broadcast facilities operated by the Foundation shall serve as an outlet for news and analysis not commonly aired by commercial and public outlets and shall sponsor public forums on various issues affecting the listening audience. The broadcast facilities operated by the Foundation shall offer training to volunteers in all aspects of operation and production and broadcast journalism. The broadcast facilities operated by the Foundation shall be funded primarily by listener contributions and shall be operated primarily by volunteers. Additional funding sources may be developed with the stipulation that no parties other than listener-members, staff and directors shall maintain any influence over programming content or editorial policy regardless of their financial contributions.

The broadcast facilities operated by the Foundation shall seek to participate in national networks and collaborations with other independent and community stations for the mutual benefit of each and the national and international communities of independent non-commercial broadcasters as a whole.
